Alta eMobility to Coordinate Voucher Benefits for Nikola Tre BEV Buyers Under Newly Formed New Jersey Zero-Emission Incentive Program (NJ ZIP)

LIVONIA, Mich. – March 23, 2023 – Alta eMobility, a leader in turnkey fleet electrification solutions, has announced that the Nikola Tre BEV has been accepted under the New Jersey Zero-Emission Incentive Program (NJ ZIP). Alta eMobility will help qualifying fleets purchasing a Nikola Tre BEV navigate the NJ ZIP Phase 2 program to obtain vouchers valued at $175,000 per Class 8 tractor. The enrollment period begins April 18, 2023 and will close after funds have been designated.

NJ ZIP was launched by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) as a pilot program for medium and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles. In the state of New Jersey, all battery electric vehicles (BEVs) are exempt from New Jersey sales tax. The purpose of the program is to support the growth of the New Jersey zero-emission vehicle ecosystem, reduce harmful emissions and accelerate the adoption and use of zero-emission medium and heavy-duty vehicles within the state to help attract jobs and investment.

“It’s an exciting and dynamic time for our industry,” said Mike Bucci, vice president, Alta eMobility. “Our goal has always been to seamlessly guide our customers through the fleet electrification process while helping to eliminate diesel fuel and harmful emissions. Acceptance of the Nikola Tre BEV into the NJ ZIP helps us do just that. It’s a big win for Alta eMobility, our customers and the environment.”

Alta eMobility works directly with fleet owners interested in upgrading their Class 8 diesel tractors to zero-emission eTractors, using the best systems and solutions available in the market to electrify, charge, operate and optimize fleet efficiency and performance.
